We had a wonderful time at the Maugel Holiday Soiree.  Maugel's corporate offices were transformed into a festive winter wonderland thanks to an army of elves led by Maureen, Debbie and Jane.  The space was gorgeous and set the mood for a special evening with colleagues and friends.

Maugel Heads to Beach for Summer Family Outing

Posted by Robin Peters on Wed, Jul 27 , 2016

Many thanks to Will and Cindy for hosting Maugel's summer family outing at their vacation home in Salisbury. It was a gorgeous day on the North Shore of Boston.  We had a great turnout and all the kids loved the beach; I don't think they stopped digging all day.  I personally took the opportunity to pass on some beloved beach toys that had been gathering dust in my garage for the past 7 years. The large dinosaur, shark, and turtle seemed to be everyone's favorites.

Maugel Architects Rolls Out Red Carpet for Video Premiere

Posted by Robin Peters on Mon, Jun 20 , 2016

We had a great time at Maugel's Corporate Video Series Launch Party. The champagne and red carpet event (literally) was the culmination of many months of preparation, shooting and editing. What a team—your commitment and professionalism throughout the production was amazing, and it's reflected in the quality of the final videos.

A special thanks to videographer extraordinaire Matt Volpini—we couldn't have done it without you. You were a joy to work with and you made us all look great. And Maureen Hopper for planning the event and making it a special evening.

Click here to see the videos on the Maugel Architects YouTube Channel.  Let us know what you think.  Enjoy.

Maugel Annual Retreat 2015

Posted by Robin Peters on Tue, Oct 20 , 2015

We all headed down to Brewster for the Maugel Annual Retreat last week.  The weather was somewhat ominous early in the day—I secretly feared we'd all be struck down by a bolt of lightning while posing for our group photo (see dark, thunderous sky in photo).  But after a short downpour, the skies cleared and we had a beautiful day. The lobster and clam bake was amazing, and we had a lot of laughs learning something new about each of our colleagues (see related post Who Done It?).

Who Done It?

Posted by Robin Peters on Tue, Oct 20 , 2015

For those of you who like a little intrigue, we have a game for you...Who Done It? We all played the game at our annual retreat last week.  It was great fun and we had a lot of laughs trying to match the description to our fellow colleague. We always knew we had an interesting mix of personalities, but many of the matches surprised us. Mark Pelletier was the victor with the most correct answers. Was it due to his keen insight into human behavior? Or perhaps it was his superior observation skills? Who knows, but he beat us all by a wide margin. Congrats, Mark.  Not bad for a newcomer...

Maugel Annual Retreat

Posted by Robin Peters on Mon, Sep 22 , 2014

A great time was had by all at the Maugel Architects Annual Retreat.  The weather was perfect, the food delicious, and the people--the best in the business. The sand castle competition brought out the good-natured competitive spirit in everyone but it was Heather and Christina that took home the 1st place trophy for their design of the sand sofa.

Maugel Heads to the Cape for Retreat

Posted by Robin Peters on Mon, Oct 22 , 2012

Last week, we packed up the crew and headed down the Cape for our annual corporate retreat.  It had been a while since I had to attend a corporate retreat and as we all know, there are good retreats and there are bad retreats; which this would be was yet to be seen.  So it was with a little apprehension that I packed my overnight bag and headed south for the two hour drive.  In route, my husband called to wish me luck, "Remember the trick to making it over the hot coals barefooted is not to look down."  He jests, but one never knows.

Maugel End of Summer Smokefest

Posted by Robin Peters on Mon, Sep 24 , 2012

I'm one of those New Englanders who never likes to see summer come to an end. I love the fall but the end to summer always reminds me of the cold winter days ahead and all the snow I'll have to shovel.
But thankfully, this year Mike and Devin made the ending to summer a little easier.  They fired up the smokers and treated everyone to a fantastic BBQ feast.  Now, these two are no strangers to a smoker.  I hear that Mike has been known to compete in the local BBQ cook-off circuit.  We're fortunate that they're part of the Maugel family and we all get to enjoy their masterful creations.

Maugel Summer Lobster Bake & Pool Party

Posted by Robin Peters on Mon, Jul 30 , 2012

I started working at Maugel on June 28th.  About two weeks later, I received an invitation to the Maugel Summer Lobster Bake & Pool Party.  Now for most people over forty, there is one event that is sure to send a shiver down your spine: pool party.  Yikes! What had I gotten myself into?  I thought companies had gotten rid of all these "fun" things to do.  Wasn't the country in a recession? There was no way I was getting my non-gym-going self into a bathing suit in front of my co-workers (or in shorts, for that matter). I pondered whether my sudden resignation would be held against me by a future employer...probably, so I decided to go speak with Deb first.
