Maugel DeStefano Architects designed full renovations to all nine stories of this historic structure, considered one of Boston’s most cherished public spaces. The design received the U.S. Green Council’s LEED Gold Certification for commercial interiors. The extensive renovation of the Publishing House was accomplished under unusually challenging budgeting and scheduling parameters, including completion of construction while the building was fully occupied. Historic detailing was restored and replicated throughout many parts of this vintage structure.
