Bionostics, a new Biotechnology research and development facility, is one of the earliest industrial projects at the former Devens military base. The 40,000 SF building houses carefully planned laboratories, corporate offices and a manufacturing plant. MAI ’s design optimizes staff interaction and streamlines the development process for medical diagnostic equipment. |

IPG Photonics Headquarters, Oxford, MA
MAI provided complete architectural services for this four building research and development campus, including: a master plan, building and site design, and construction administration. Among the widespread laboratories, clean rooms, and manufacturing spaces, IPG features a central court, sunlit employee spaces, and a dignified, elegant presence. |

Learnout & Hauspie, Burlington, MA
The design of this interior and exterior renovation created a fresh new image for this high-tech company specializing in voice recognition software. A monumental two-story atrium and lobby provides a welcoming image to the company’s research and development center, with terraces and balconies that maximize day lighting to below grade spaces. |

Systems H2O, Devens, MA
Conceived as a flexible, multi-story facility, Systems H2O contains manufacturing condominiums for customized mechanical systems, including refrigeration, water purification and pneumatic equipment. The building’s large scale is minimized through material changes, fenestration treatments, and the articulation of three major building components. |

Salem Glass Company, Salem, MA
As a corporate headquarters for one of New England’s premiere glass companies, this new facility offers more than 50,000 SF of retail, office, and fabrication spaces. The design celebrates the use of varied glass treatments, a sloped curtain wall, and intermittent stone and masonry details. A glass filled clerestory tops the attached high-bay warehouse. |
